I’m attending a session on extending PHP. Man, it’s been a long time since I’ve blown the dust of my C knowledge. I do not miss memory allocation. While I may never need to develop my own extension, it’s really edifying to hear how PHP maps userland things to the underlying C from the people who developed it.

I saw this bottle of Mongoose IPA in the store today. Maybe I watch too many nature documentaries, but…uh…the pictured mammal is not a mongoose. That, friends at Hales’s Ales, is a meerkat. Mongooses (mongeese?) eat snakes. Meerkats eat bugs. Neither drink beer, but that’s really splitting hairs.

…but it is a bit of a health risk. My brother Jeff (pictured) had a relatively low-speed wreck at the skate park yesterday that resulted in what used to be his wrist turning into a puffy meat sack filled with tiny, busted wrist pieces. I’m writing this from the hospital where he awaits surgery. The good news is, as you can see from the picture, he can still use the affected hand to express his feelings about this situation.

Here’s concrete proof of who is REALLY using the alpaca finder. This crude drawing was discovered in the vicinity of the refridgerator around 11 am this morning. I will continue to post updates as I find more clues.
